The typical scenario is that this study and others like it are reported in the headlines, while corrections, retractions and debunking generally ends up buried in the back pages if it is reported at all. Par for the course.

It's not just junk studies that are BS, but all human studies. The problem with such utilitarian argumentation is, what if the good, properly done studies (as far as that is possible where human subjects are concerned :rolleyes: - this ain't physics) actually showed that more guns equals more crime? What would you do then, turn your guns in?

I'm armed because it suits me, and no one else has any say in it.
 
They will cite it just like people quote Jenny McCarthy and how vaccines cause autism. It doesn't go away. It won't. Even if it's false.
