The Oregon State Police (OSP) has previously processed Concealed Handgun
License holders at an expedited pace through the Firearms Instant Check System. For
years, this practice was efficient and effective. Recently, the unprecedented
surge in background requests caused a severe impact on the efficiency of this
practice and the overall background process. OSP has recognized this impact and
altered the background process to ensure background requests, that are in the
"Queue", are processed in the order they are received by the FICS Unit.

Translation, we can't really do the job efficiently that we are charted with by law, and we want everyone to be equally denied or delayed their constitutional right to firearms. Even those who previously completed the extensive background checks required for concealed permits.

Oregon is so lost. Started in CA. Moved to OR. Then polluted WA, then moved back into OR even worse

When one suffers the whole team suffers !

From what I've seen and heard it's moved only about 50 to 100 a day.
At this point a suit should be filed to force an inquiry as to why we went from 600+ a day to 75 a day.
