As far as the fudd, issue, I agree gun people need to not piss on each other. That's why I get upset when I read on this forum about people saying a person that didn't follow another persons prescribed ideas about gun safety or home defense, should be ridiculed or thrown in jail. That kind of talk is not good for us when it comes from us. It will not hurt the statists that want to limit our gun rights, it only helps them to see infighting.
Fudds not caring about standard capacity magazines is no worse than a snowflake that criticizes a household that doesn't lock up all thier guns.

Yes seriously. I've read threads on this and other gun forums abut kids getting hold of improperly stored firearms and someone gets hurt, and people chiming in that they hope they get the boook thrown at them. You really haven't seen it here before? I have, on more than a few ocasisons.

It's not so much about the "Fudds not caring", it's about the Fudds that only care about the firearms that they like (Joe Biden, Floyd Prozanski, Bill Maher, etc) and actively promote the banning firearms/accessories (standard capacity magazines/bump stocks/"assault weapons"/class 3 firearms/suppressors/open carry/etc.), it's about the Fudds that support gun control groups that actively want to ban every aspect of gun ownership (these Fudds seem to think that the anti's will stop before they get to those "sniper rifles" and "street sweeper" shotguns that hunters use) and it's about the Fudds that give lip service to the 2nd Amendment by saying "I support the 2A, but..................", that are screwing us.

These people probably do as much damage to our rights as the anti's do.

As I said previously, leftists that like guns for their own purpose are not doing damage to us because they like certain kinds of guns and dislike others. They are doing damage because they are leftists. It also doesn't hurt that they are completely ignorant of the purpose of the 2nd amendment.
The fudd of old has learnt his lesson I'm sure. The fudd of old had the same mentality as those that think if only there weren't accidents and occasional bad manners from the gun community the leftists wouldn't have any ammo to use against us. I am willing to bet in the not too distant future people on this very board wil throw fellow gun owners under the bus for not complying with the last bit of stupidity that came out of Salem. All for the purpose of deflecting negative attention from themselves.
You no doubt realize this but I'll say it anyway. It does not matter to them one way or the other. They will always have a reason to hate you and what you stand for.
There will always be groups created for the purpose of infiltrating the gun culture.
This is the main reason I don't like the whole idea of gettin leftist involved in certain activities, they ALWAYS infiltrate, infect it, take it over, then leave it when it no longer suits them. Yes, I listed leftist Fudds, but the reason I listed them is that they own guns and are calling for bans for stuff they don't like:
Biden only likes shotguns, to hell with every other gun,
Prozanski says he has a gun, but wants to ban every gun, other than his,
Maher has a gun "for protection", but wants to ban every gun, other than his.

I should have included some so called conservatives like Brian Boquist, Pat Toomey, Bill O'reilly, Carlos Curbelo, Patrick Meehan, Peter King, etc.

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to say that Fudds are only leftists (although it seems that most are), as there are many lefties that are as ardent supporters of the 2nd Amendment as we are (there are more than a few here on this site). To me, a Fudd is a gun owner that calls for gun control and those are the ones that are worse for the 2A; they push the perception (to non gun owners and those in the middle) that they are the only "reasonable/sensible" gun owners and anyone against what they're preaching is a "gun nut" that only wants to kill people with their evil "assault weapons" that fire 30 bullets per second.

While I am left handed and I do prefer older guns with wood stocks and blued steel..That is neither here or there...

One of the reasons why I dislike labels or "blanket statements" like "All Leftists or "All Conservatives" , "All Gun Owners..." etc...Is that they don't not speak for all...Only those folks with the loudest voices...The ones we see time and time again on various media.

When speaking on a subject that is deeply divided , we need to go beyond Labels , Blanket Statements and falling into the trap of Stereotyping.

On a serious note I have been labeled:
Left / Liberal ...
Fudd ...
Gun Nut...
Right Wing / Conservative...
A Killer / Murderer...
And many other names / labels or stereotypes...

I wish that those same folks who label or use blanket statements would ask me what I consider myself... Instead of stereotyping , reading into what I have said , taking words or ideas out of context etc... And labeling me with a convenient , but often erroneous label.

Using labels or blanket statements can also lead to infighting , bickering , loss of support and loss of the true objective.

So, just about half the people I know need to be put in prison? I go into peoples homes for a living. There isn't a farm or ranch that doesn't have a rifle, shotgun, pistol to hand. They also have children.
You have just proven my point. You do not think people should do what people have been doing for hundreds of years in this country because something bad can happen.
It appears on the surface people with that mentality are blaming easy access to guns and the guns themselves rather than bad parenting.
To prove my point further. How many of those that think putting people in jail because they did what most people did for generations past would even consider throwing a parent in jail if their young child drowns in a pond or pool behind their house?
Or played in an unlocked car and kicked it neutral?
Or got under the sink and drank the wrong chemicals?
They simply don't because there is no anti-pool or anti-car or anti-cleaning supply group to appease.
If gun owners and gun grabbers both see the tool and it's easy access as the problem we will have European style storage, transport and insurance requirements..
Which is why I said this thinking is easily as bad as the people you call fudds.

One problem with some "Solutions" or "Answers" is that they can come from a "One size fits all" thought process , which can mean "One size fits none" in real life application.
Many laws , rules , suggestions , guidelines etc...Should be tailored to fit the need at hand , in that time or place.

Just how someone stores and secures their firearms may be great for them and their situation , but a disaster or unworkable for someone else.

Should you keep your guns out of the hands of those who aren't trained in their use or have not proven worthy of the trust and responsibility of safely handling firearms?...Of course.
Just how that is done , should be made by the gun owner , not by someone else , who has no real idea of the gun owners needs.

A lot of people use democrat/left/liberal interchangeably

Democrats are not liberals, they are socialists. Most of their policies are illiberal. Unfortunately the meaning of liberal seems to have died (could argue it died in the 60's to 70's) and libertarian kinda took over but still dems are socialists (speaking in terms of party not voter base as i doubt half of democrat voters can genuinely explain the difference between liberal, socialist, communist, or fascist)

Seems to me that dems are more about financial industries and repubs are more about natural resource industries...
Republicans are borderline autocrats because they apparently believe all of their problems can be solved by one person... probably why they are called fascists so regularly.
Dems tend to spin on that it will take a group effort to get something done, which is probably why they're called socialists/communists...
