It is simple. The state of our society is what constitutes PC and the associated response.
Remember that for PC the officer only has to have a 51% concern that there could be a problem. Now imagine what would happen if the officer decided to NOT contact someone open carrying just because open carry is legal. If the person carrying the gun went on a rampage and killed a number of folks what do you think the repercussions would be?
Officers should make respectful, cordial and reasonable contact and the subject carrying should make an equal effort to be respectful, cordial and reasonable.

Casad is NOT published opinion and it cannot be used as legal precedent because of that.
I fail to understand why anyone wants to open carry. Because you can is not a good answer.
Why let anyone even know you have a gun on you? I don't get it.
I don't want some goblin knowing that I have a gun, so he can make adjustments in his plan. I want to have it be a total surprise to him as he pops out from behind a car with a knife, thinking I am unarmed.
And if you own a handgun, why not get a CPL. Oh, wait...the whole "I won't sign anything, the government is out to get me" crap.
Not meant to start a flame here, but I just plain don't get the open carry thing.
Give me a break. 99% of that painful read is one guy's opinion. Some of it is downright comical.
MY opinion is...the element of surprise is always an advantage. I do not want criminals to know that I carry. Period.
Concealed carry is the antis way of chipping away at the freedom's of law abiding citizens.
Now that's a new one! I can see all those liberals now in their secret meeting saying," I know, let's get shall issue laws passed in all the states that we can. It's a good way to chip away at those damn gun owners rights!"
The mere fact that law abiding citizens need to get a license to do carry a gun is a step in the direction of gun control. "Pro-gun" people that support these sort of licensing schemes are blind to the implications of the government tracking otherwise law abiding people. But hey, I'm sure you wouldn't mind if the government tracked all the guns you own . . . they would never confiscate anything.
However, to state that requirements to have a license before carrying concealed is part of a conspiracy is ridiculous!
