It was amusing when this spectacular design flaw was demonstrated in hundreds of Iraqi tanks. Still a serious weakness, as has been demonstrated in Ukraine.

but this alows for no case ejection, since they don't use one
the Polish recognized this fault and attempted to design an upgrade, but found this impractical, so they purchased M1 Abrams
yes, its a recognized shortcoming, but the basic design prohibits upgrade to a safer system
the Russians did correct this in the new T14, but even the T90 still used the 2 piece ammo system

THIS is worth watching, trust me. The guy is a hoot - telling us about all the advantages that russian tanks have over Ukrainian equivalent, and they STILL bail out and leg it when faced with even minimal opposition....

Ukraine has received German manufactured PzH 2000 motorized 155 mm howitzers
these units are impressive - they can fire 3 rnds in 9 secs in MRSI mode - that is all shots from this one gun land on target at the same time
then they can scoot out before Russian anti battery radar can identify their location
