Evidence of a new style of training in Law Enforcement leading Officers to believe they are never to take a hit (from a fist, gun, or otherwise). Over the course of 31 years, I witnessed the obvious transition.

When in fact, taking a hit is EXACTLY what they are paid so well for (so the citizenry...yes, even a suspect.. doesn't have to).

Regardless of mistaken ID, whether or not it was the Dad that exited, there was zero threat present from that person.

However, I'd be reluctant to place all the responsibility on the Officer that fired on her. Enough were there that a Sergeant or Supervisor was incumbent to establish control over his mis-trained subordinates.
