I'm not saying there wasn't something illegal going on and in fact if they were found to be guilty of ID Theft and Fraud I"m ok with a very lengthy prison stay for them as I see that type of crime as being more of a threat to the people than the explosives. I've been trying to get a real clear picture of just what these people had or didn't have in their home. Many of the items listed seem pretty generic and and may be found in the homes of people you know. 9 rifle magazines, items that could be used to make explosives, books describing terrorism ( I think most of Rawles books could be classified as such by many) "An arsenal" of weapons? Below in bold is a piece of the article I found.
" Morgan Gliedman, 27, and Aaron Greene, 31, were arrested Saturday in their Manhattan apartment after officers with a search warrant found 7 grams of HMTD, a highly explosive white powder used in bomb making. Police also seized a flare launcher, a sawed-off shotgun, nine rifle magazines and various how-to manuals on building bombs and booby traps.
"They had a terrorist encyclopedia, they had improvised and modified firearms, deadly homemade weapons, a do it yourself machine gun..."
Sawed off shotgun "possibly illegal if shorter than legal limit". What is a "modified firearm"? If I add Magpul accessories to my weapon is it "modified"? Last I checked flare launchers are not illegal. What is a "deadly home made weapon"? Did these guys have a stripped lower and some misc. parts or ............ Materials to make explosives. Is Tannerite one of these. Just asking as advocate who knows that sometimes stories get spun. The FBI agent interviewed seemed pretty uptight about this large cache and the "extreme" mindset......
I was almost afraid to even google HMTD for fear that I might have my door busted down but I wasn't that impressed with what I read. Someone in my general area must have had some of that on New Years Eve cause my house was shaking at midnight....
