As a person who was once on a cocktail of antidepressants (turned out I had low testosterone), I can tell you first hand I remember a time when I looked at my wife and said "change the safe combo, I'm getting off these drugs. I don't feel right and I know this isn't how I should feel."

A month later the crazy voices were gone and I had detoxed from Prozac and I've never felt that way again. That was after being in it for two or three months only. I can't imagine those who have been on it for a lifetime.

Certainly the report was aimed at drugs and mental illness, and I think it did a good job of showing a history of drug induced actions. When you look at many of the mass injury car incidents, where a driver plowed into people on purpose, those drivers were influenced by drugs and or alcohol.

I love the fact that he starts off with "the crime tape is still up in Virginia when politicians began calling for almost predictably for tougher gun control laws...so here's a questions, why is it always a discussion about guns?"

He gets. that news team gets it...finally some common sense in the media. I like it.

This is an area that needs more study. Since all these people were probably on the drugs for mental health reasons, you cant just say the drug caused the problem and not the underlying mental health condition.

Just because the vast majority of women who get breast cancer also watch TV, does not mean the TV caused their breast cancer

What this does illustrate is the bigger issue with society now. Why do 60% percent of us have a diagnosable mental health condition?

I know it is easy to blame guns, you dont have to do any thinking to blame them. What's difficult is asking why are the majority of us having these problems?

Carnac predicts a traffic jam of lawyers at Eli Lilly's headquarters. :)

Dyjital's story above is wake up call stuff. I've long felt Americans and their doctors have fallen in love with quick fixes to conditions that have deeper roots and which can be addressed by actions other than a pill. The statistics on the number of children taking psychosomatic drugs is staggering. I think we're only beginning to see the connections to this love affair and the unintended consequences.

There is indeed a cold breeze in hell. That someone in CBS allowed this to be aired is either a huge boo-boo or (we can surely hope) a sign that some level of rational thought is creeping back into the media.

Thanks for sharing this Pandaz3

The population doubled on the earth in the past 50 years......more rapidly than ever before in history.......gene pool is completely contaminated ...

what you see is just the beginning

Edit: see movie.......Idiocracy...over the top comedy but the beginning of what we are seeing

If the MSM is behind it, then it's a trick. They are pursuing mental illness not to try to help or fix people, but to make sure the slippery slope is linking mental illness with gun control. Eventually "I like guns" = "gun nut" = "racist nutcase with an inferiority complex, likely to explode at any time".

I don't trust them one bit.

You nailed it ! The left does not switch lanes on anything without a nefarious agenda in the playbook.

BINGO! I believe they will start to use "mental illness" as a way to deny people their Second Amendment rights. We all agree truly crazy people (see: AFTER being adjudicated mentally incompetent in accordance with their due process rights) should not own guns.

The problem is they will pass a law allowing some agency (HHS, FDA, BATFE, ect.) to decide what would cause someone to be "mentally unstable", circumventing congressional scrutiny. Congress does have the power of the purse, but imagine the headlines: "The Republican's will kill grandma/the children/poor people by shutting down HHS because they want mentally unstable people to own guns".

Eventually, that agency will create a "rule" that says anyone who was prescribed any of these types of drugs is mentally unstable and barred from owning a firearm. That way someone who took some anti-depressant 20 years ago in middle school will be classified as "mentally unstable" and can't own a gun. Tens of millions of people have been FORCED (because they were a minor at the time) to take these drugs and could have their guns confiscated with something like this - a gun grabbers wet dream.

This is a VERY slippery slope!

I want to take a minute to expand on how these drugs make people feel.

I alluded earlier that I had taken Prozac, bupropion and another I can't remember.

The worst of the three was Prozac.

So if you haven't ever taken these then allow me to give you a small insight into the mind of somebody on that crap.
  • For men: sex... the end never comes. Frustrating? You betcha. The other extreme; no matter how much viagra you take... it's not happening. Mix those two together as about 80% of your experiences..
  • Imagine driving down the road and wondering how it would feel to drive straight into that tree at 60mph.
  • Cutting veggies with a knife and wondering what the inside of your hand looks like. Would it hurt? It couldn't be that bad to find out.
  • Vivid dreams where there is NO self preservation.
  • Vivid dreams where there is NO thought towards another person's safety
  • Now have those things flash before you while you are awake!!!!
  • Wake up in the middle of the night standing over your wife on her side of the bed, not knowing if this is a dream or reality.
Every thought is vague but real but it's like you have thought about it so many times before and you are convinced that you already decided what was best to do even if it logically doesn't make sense.

I mean these are just SOME of the thoughts that I personally experienced.

Thank GOD I got off of that stuff.

So please have SOME sympathy or empathy if you can (even if it's between $hit and syphilis in the dictionary) or understanding for those who have been force fed these drugs. Sometimes in my cousin's instance he was given adderall and ritalin as a child being told it was vitamins. Apparently his mom prefered a sedated child. We used to have him at our house a LOT when he was young and we NEVER gave him those meds. He was a little boy and had fun being one... back home and back on the drugs..

This is an affiliate station as well. They carry the MSM channel name but that doesn't mean they are fully dictated on what they must do/run/show by the "agenda 21 tinfoil hat" people.

Anytime I see those drug commercials I shudder as the list all of the possible side effects associated with them.
I will not go to my Dr and ask if they are right for me, it's called mind control through TV!!!!
