Cheaper 1-power glass tends to throw me off, from my experience. There's slight refraction /magnification when high-end companies don't make them that messes with my other eye. If you're shopping budget, 1.5x will be more consistently magnified. About all I can contribute based on my optics I've had.

Trijicon makes 1-4 and 1-6 scopes with crosshairs and a dot illuminated by fiber optic with tritium backup for low light. My 1-4 AccuPoint is my favorite scope. Not tiny but still not too bad on an AR.

Swampfox Optics has new 1x25 prism scope coming out.
Pretty interesting reticle. 5,10,15 and 50/200 yd Bullet Rise Compensating reticle .

The Primary Arms 1x6 and 1x8 scopes that I have seem to be good at 1x.
They have 1x with the ACSS reticle Primary Arms SLx Compact 1x20 Prism Scope - ACSS-Cyclops
.
The Swampfox has shake awake which is pretty cool.
Their 3x looks pretty solid also.

Primary Arms Cyclops 1x Prismatic. Horizonyal bars are used for ranging, chevron used for aiming and horseshoe used for moving targets and CQB rapid aiming. Compact, good glass, and comes in black and FDE
