    ...what would it be?

I'll start it off with a few popular calibers:

    .22LR - Ruger SR22
    .380ACP - Walther PPK
    .38 - S&W J-frame
9mm - Beretta 92A1 or Glock 19 (9mm is the hardest one for me to decide)
    .40S&W - HK USP (Tactical)
    .45ACP - 1911

Sig 226 should be on the list too. 9mm is the only one I would have a hard time choosing just 1 gun.

    My list
    .22LR - Browning Buckmark
    .38SPC - S&W J-frame
    .357Mag - S&W686-Plus
    9mm - S&W Shield
    .40S&W - Sig P229
    .45ACP - 1911

By the way, I don't think there are any J-frames chambered in .380ACP

Interesting list so far. More vast than I anticipated. And more Glocks than I anticipated!

I forgot one in the 9mm category, which would probably trump the 92 and Glock 19...Sig P226

I hate to be a spoiler, but if you have a 38SPL, then you can not have a 357 because that would give you 2 pistols in 38SPL. Nor could you have a 44 mag and a 44 spl. for the same reason.
    BUT thanks for playing
