Obama's original plan was a single payer plan. It was the Republicans who insisted on using private insurance companies and passing a law that in no way curbs premium costs, allows price fixing unabated and REQUIRES us all to buy it. All three of these points are Republican additions/modifications. You can't blame them on Obama. Aside from that part, your post is dead on target.

Please post proof, I'm not doubting this but I would like to see some reliable proof that this is factual.

All along for a year the Republicans announced that they would block Obama's proposals, period, so the Dems kept altering them in hopes of getting Republican agreement. Every revision produced a similar Republican announcement that they would block it. The final version was so corrupt that it might have well been written by Republicans! Numerous times the Republicans were invited to committee meetings---and they refused to participate every time, so that they could later claim that they were locked out of the planning.

And no, I won't do your homework for you. Do your own research. Get a stack of 2009 Time magazines and read the progression of events---the one that you were not paying attention to at the time........................elsullo

The question was not local or state Government, the question was Federal gubmint.

I believe in a strong REPUBLIC, The Federal needs to be much much smaller and allow state sovereignty as it was designed to.
