Almost 20 years ago I was given two guns to hold in safe keeping for a child. The guns belonged to his grandfather . He used them to bust coyotes and rabbits on his ranch in the California desert. The childs mother was (and still is) very anti gun So, I was asked by the father to pass them to him when I felt the time was right. Over the years I have kept in touch from time to time and never felt things were right. He was young and had stupid friends who I just didn't trust. It had been more than a year since we had spoken so I was very suprised to learn that he had become a father and held down a decent job for more than a year.

I decided it was time.

It was good to "pass the spear" and I hope that his will take good care of them and pass them on to his childeren.
