Kudos to this Chehalis neighborhood. And kudos to King 5 for the first Gun Positive report I've seen on tv recently.

Chehalis homeowner shoots, wounds intruder | KING5.com Seattle

Note some of the interesting things in this video:

-The Perp is known to police who aren't able to do anything about him
-The neighborhood recognized him as a threat and took action
    -THIS neighborhood watch worked
-The bad guy encountered someone with a gun and then moves to a new target to continue his activities
-The bad guy continues to fight after being shot. High cap mags, anyone?

That's how it works. Nothing more or less. Nothing fancy or flashy. Just the way its supposed to be.

Sheriff Mansfield said, "My office works very hard in ensuring people feel safe and secure in Lewis County, however; people have to be prepared to protect themselves in situations like this in their own homes. Our response times are as fast we can make them but there may be a time when you are by yourself and you are forced to make a life or death decision to protect yourself and your family, like this man did".

Yup. It is a damn shame that Creed is still alive, seeing as he is a worthless habitual meth user.

well, down here in Lewis County, we do have a few meth heads....well, ok, more than a few. This will hopefully thin the herd a bit.

As One-eyed has said Lewis County has a few and so do most of the surronding counties especially the 3 areas with prisons in them.

Sheriff Mansfield is having a news conference at 10:30 according to King5 news. Not sure what else needs to be said, but will be nice to get good press coverage of a homeowner defending his family.

Not like the Tukwila home invasion....

Airlifted halfway to Harborview Medical Center would have been better.
