My reason is aging & arthritis, I've shot a 10mm handgun and did not find it pleasing so it's not getting into my Arsenal.
One of the virtues of the 10mm is that it's very versatile. You don't have to load bone-jarring loads. It can be loaded down to 40 S&W specs if you want soft loads.
Just don't load them too hot!
Agreed. Sturdiness of the round depends upon what components are used. As one example, I've found that Winchester primers sometimes don't hold up to certain loads. And here I'm not talking about upper end loads, either. I've also found that using faster propellants with heavier bullets isn't the best idea.
