Here is the littIe bit I have personal knowledge of regarding wages in Washington State/Oregon vs South Carolina.
There is a very large airplane manufacturer where most commercial aircraft are assembled in the Puget Sound vicinity and some parts are manufactured in the Portland area.
The exact same aircraft is made in Everett and Charleston. The exact same jobs are required to create those aircraft and those jobs pay considerably less per hour in South Carolina.
Perhaps the difference in wages is offset by a lower cost of living in the Charleston area, I do not know.

Wil you please give it a rest. We know, cut and run is your version of courage. We get it, so cool it for awhile.
No. Im a realist. Youre not. Its not going to get better for you. There is no level of courage in just getting beaten down by democracy. You aren't fighting and winning anything. Your'e just losing. You aren't going to reverse any of this. Its going to get worse. Your'e screwed. Get used to it and stop complaining or get out. Your choice.

They dont have to deal with the obnoxious unions shutting them down every few years. The Boeing workers in Charleston enjoy a similar if not better standard of living for the same work as the Washington employees and the company doesn't have to deal with being held hostage and shutting down every few years. Im surprised they keep anything in Redmond/Everett/Renton etc. Im sure the long term plans are to bail on all of it, and head to SC. Everyone wins.

Actually the topic being debated was wages in the Northwest vs South Carolina...
But if you want to to switch, I am sure you are aware that multiple aircraft built in Charleston were flown to Everett to have poor quality issues corrected prior to delivery to the customer.
Also, customers with enough clout because of the large numbers of aircraft they purchased (airline from the Middle East) would not accept Charleston built planes due to quality (or lack thereof).

Must be a union Boeing guy. I know guys like you that have union'ed themselves out of work.

OMG I don't even know how I will get through next week, with the overwhelming oppression of the all powerful sissyboy liberals raining down on me.

If you're a realist, you must have noted what's happening voting wise in VA, GA and NC. How long do you think SC is going to become more prosperous, have more people move there, more young people stay there after college, and not also become more liberal? Same thing that's happening in Texas.

Are all the gun people just going to end up in Mississippi? :p

Again reality. Thats not South Carolina. I understand the Northwest having lived there for 30 years. I am intimately aware of the workings of South Carolina having grown up here. Its never , ever going to turn into a bastion of liberalness. Ever. North Carolina is actually liberalizing gun laws not the other way around and heres the dirty little secret of the Carolinas. We dont like North Carolina and whatever they do we kind of do the opposite. VA ? Im surprised its not more liberal than it is given its mainly settled by ex federal employees. Texas? You may have the idea they are tightening gun laws but thats just a perception. Theyre so caught up in doing things the Texas way no matter what I doubt theyre ever going to succumb. There are some parts of the country that are safe. Actually safe. Its hard to see that where you are at but its true.

I wonder, how long can someone keep up a p*ssing contest if his d!ck gets tied in a knot?
I didn't know you were into pecker knot tying; sounds kinky.

Uh ohh, 3 more pages of locker room humor in 3...2...1...

this thread is so full on irrelevant stuff maybe it's time to start a clean one or something I dunno.

How 'bout that HB 1240? Such a deal, eh?

This thread is a good example of why we have had our 2A rights eroded over time. The left seems to have a group of people that will blindly follow what their 'leaders' tell them, even when it appears to you and I to be utter foolishness. Most of us on the right tend to be hard headed individualists. We're the folks that look to see which way the herd is going and then we go the other way. It's not surprising that we bicker amongst ourselves and can't get any traction.
Can't we all just get along and defeat stupid legislation like this? Keep your eye on the prize and the other crap will sort itself out.
