I too am a lifetime NRA member and not happy with the way it is being run, I still will donate but only to the NRA-ILA as all money is used for the fight.
"Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the "lobbying" arm of the National Rifle Association of America. ILA is responsible for preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals in the legislative, political, and legal arenas, to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution."

It is also possible to donate to the NRA's litigation fund directly, which is an actual 510(c)(3) charity: Civil Rights Legal Defense Fund - Home

The annual report is on that site and less than 10% of their expenses are for admin and advertising purposes -- the bulk of it goes to support 2A litigation efforts.
