From what I have read, because it is a short session they will most likely focus on what they didn't get passed last session. Safe storage law, for example. I think there are one or two others.

If they do, we SHOULD be demanding 'reasonable and common sense' fixes to SB941. Like fixing the FFL03, CMP and/or CCL exemptions.

I would like to be able to carry, Oregon is the only only state in the US where I cannot. But then as a tax payer I would also like to be allowed to vote.

Yeah, I'm old school and honor and integrity still mean something to me.;)
But alas, these progressives are a bunch of lying snakes!!!:mad::mad:

Well, you still made an excellent point Jim. We clearly need to show up at these town hall meetings that our legislators will be holding early next year.

The Anti-gun folk are clearly planning to show up. We should too.

These gun control groups are so disingenuous. They are running ads showing an NRA member and a hunter both calling for increased gun controls. They are trying to give the impression that no rational person would ever be against implementing more restrictive gun controls.

That is the main thing that is in our favor. 2016 is indeed a short session. So legislators are very pressed for time, and limited in how much they can get done.

That said, though, do you really think that these gun control groups are not going to try to capitalize on the Umpqua Community College tragedy?? I think that they all see this as being too great of an opportunity for them to pass up.

If gun owners can raise some hell and organize some protests, show up at legislative town halls, and write letters and maybe even testify at hearings, perhaps doing all of that could stave off anything drastic happening next year.

But if gun owners are just going to roll over without a fight, then why wouldn't they try to steamroll us?

I guess it's time to start playing dirty with the politicians in Salem. Start looking for dirt on them - make it public. Go after the names that supported Kitzhaber while he was playing fast and loose with our money. Get the dirt and let them know you'll make it all public if they push for more anti gun legislation. Talking won't work. OFF and the NRA won't stop them. They need to know there will be real consequences for voting to take the rights from law abiding citizens.

At this point, I see no option but to turn their dirty tactics back on them.

Anyone know any good stories of corruption, sex, lying, online perversions about any of the current folks that the rest of the voters need to be aware of? Maybe it's time to put those to work. Unless someone has a better idea.

You are definitely on to something here. But who would investigate? The Democrats are not going to investigate themselves. They control the state government. Would Obama launch an investigation at the Federal level? I don't think so.

But there are many who do indeed consider Oregon's government to be corrupt and unethical. Take a look at the link below showing how The Center for Public Integrity rated our state government. It is a pretty sad indictment of our government.

But how can we go about changing this?? I honestly don't know myself.

This is worth taking a look at:

Who was it that investigate Kitzhaber and broke that story? Willamette Week? There are likely some outlets in Oregon that would love to get the clicks/reads, even if it means going after some of their own. But they have limited resources that they can only send after decent leads. My idea is simply to get the discussion started. Someone out there may know things about these folks - their personal business dealings when they're not legislating, etc.

I don't have the answers. I do know that rallies didn't stop SB 941. Phone calls didn't stop SB 941. Emails, letters, personal testimony, none of it stopped SB 941. I think we all know we're facing some serious challenges in 2016. If our only plan is to do the same, we're going to lose again, and in a bigger way this time. I think the tactic is going to have to shift - they clearly don't care about our calls, emails and testimony - and they're certainly not motivated to change by them.

I wish there was someone to rally around, someone that has a plan and is already actively working to fight them before they come together. Politics isn't my forte. I don't know how it all works. But one thing is certain in my mind, if nothing changes in our strategy BEFORE the 2016 session, we'll all be talking next spring about how we 'won't comply' with the next round of unconstitutional laws.

And yes, I saw that report the other day. They said the "F" was based largely on Kitzhaber - a man who was outed for his corruption BEFORE the last election, and still won the position. Damn, what a place we live in.

I sure wish that someone could find some dirt on Mitch Greenlick. He is not as well known as Burdick or Prozanski, but is one of the most rabid gun control advocates in the legislature.

Just looking at him in the photo below, he comes across as being a stereotypical crooked fatcat politician.

I honestly don't think that Kitzhaber himself was that bad. I think that he was blinded by love when it came to dealings with his girlfriend.

And I believe that his fellow Democrats threw him under the bus, partially because he was not liberal enough for them. They wanted someone further to the left, and they definitely got that in Governor Brown.

They sure do make up the numbers and we need to call their BS numbers.

True. But I'm thinking more of verifiable proof of those things going on behind closed doors, special deals, etc. that they definitely don't want getting out to the public.

If you have any info give it to Willamette Week. When it first started it was just a Liberal rag with porn ads but they've done some real good stories & turned over a lot of rocks.

Geez... I bet he hasn't seen his penis from under that "dunlap" in YEARS.

This Eugene church is really heavily involved in gun control. They are also hosting an event called MUSIC HEALS: A Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence, on December 6th. Eugene's Mayor Kitty Piercy will give an address at the event. Money raised will go to the Umpqua shooting victims and their families, which is a silver lining.

This is one of countless events happening all over the country in December, to commemorate the 3rd Anniversary of the Sandy Hook shootings.

I believe it was Brian Clem that got thrown under the bus by the Dems last session. Kotek and Courtney had promised him that a vote for 941 would assure that the concealed carry reciprocity bill would go through. If you want to dig up dirt, that's one of the ways to go about it. Emphasize how they lie to their own party members.

How many here downloaded and signed the emergency clause petition? How many even know what it is? If you don't know what it is, then it's obvious that you're not serious about the 2A fight. When we talk about involvement, perhaps some should be looking in the mirror and asking the question instead of publicly putting down our strongest activists.

The Eugene church that is hosting this "House Party" has also created a Facebook event to promote it:

I definitely think that they are going to try to exploit the Umpqua shootings. Just look at the image they posted for the event at the church. Looks like the typical "we must protect the children" anti-gun propaganda:

Those kind of images make my heart sink and wonder what kind of black hearted monster would exploit those grieving over lost loved ones. Wonder if they would be doing anything at all for those people if their political cause wasn't involved.
