Unless he just shot at you and/or will shoot at someone else, or is carrying a bloody axe after chopping on someone, or something like that, then he/she may still be a threat to innocents and valid to shoot at (if safe to shoot).

But yeah, not just bad form, but illegal and a good way to lose your freedom, a lot of money and your guns.

I did not see that Holy water story before. BZ - Well done to the SGT who safely disarmed the woman and all those in the department who responded (including fire).

That story could have ended very differently.
