Yes...this in a big way.Only 3 is new.
Just so I am clear does this mean to create a 'relief' of the M, M & SN on the interior so it would 'stamp' this onto the case when fired?Requires the ability to micro-stamp, in one or more locations on the interior of the handgun. the make, model and serial number of the pistol, and transfer that information to each cartridge case when the firearm is fired.
Some people say it's not a concern because no manufacturers are going to implement microstamping and therefore nothing gets bumped off. But the Democrats likely had a plan when they passed this bill.
Bloomberg has long desired to use his wealth to fund gun control. If he pays to start up a licensed 07 FFL that spends $100,000,000 getting crappy microstamping up and running, he can purge every non-microstamped handgun from California's roster.
If they made one model, more rudimentary than a hi-point, in two calibers, ten colors of each, that would remove 60grandfathered handguns from the roster. Now they change the grip angle by 2 degrees, so the"new" model must be added to the roster. That bumps another 60 grandfathered handguns off the roster. Now they change the trigger from a stamping to a forging. Another 60 gone. Within a few years all quality handguns could be removed from the roster and only these monstrosities would remain.
Here's the quote from the law. "...equipped with a microscopic array of characters used to identify the make, model and serial number of the pistol, etched or otherwise imprinted in one or more places on the interior surface or internal working parts of the pistol, and that are transferred by imprinting on each cartridge case when the firearm is fired.Just so I am clear does this mean to create a 'relief' of the M, M & SN on the interior so it would 'stamp' this onto the case when fired?
Has 'California' consulted with any engineers on a design of the 'interior surface or internal working parts of the pistol' that would effectively, equipped with a microscopic array of characters used to identify the make, model and serial number of the pistol, etched or otherwise imprinted in one or more places on the interior surface or internal working parts of the pistol, and that are transferred by imprinting on each cartridge case when the firearm is fired.
This would require some sort of stamping device incorporated into the action of the pistol which would be an engineering and design nightmare.imprinting on each cartridge case when the firearm is fired.
IS a vague, uneducated statement and tells me it is obvious they have NOT consulted anyone about this.etched or otherwise imprinted in one or more places on the interior surface or internal working parts of the pistol,
But they will pass a law making:They require it because they know it isn't feasible.
SO - if this 'unsafe gun' (such as one NOT capable of microstamping) goes on the 'roster', and no manufacturers ever creates one then they have in effect, created a 'fake' entry on the roster which allows them to remove three guns from the roster. All semi automatic pistols, not already on the safe handgun roster,
that do not have micro-stamp capability, are considered "unsafe handguns".
All semiautomatic pistols, not already on the safe handgun roster, that do not have micro-stamp capability, are considered "unsafe handguns".
