For the young punks
"
, I want to kill. I mean, I wanna, I
Wanna kill. Kill. I wanna, I wanna see, I wanna see blood and gore and
Guts and veins in my teeth. Eat dead burnt bodies. I mean kill, Kill,
KILL, KILL." "KILL, KILL, " "KILL, KILL."

Aaaaand, there it is...

There are some people who can't legally own a gun and it's best to not sell them one. A man can't know everyone's history, selling a convicted murderer a gun means you don't care who he kills with your gun.

I have more respect for people than to arm the criminals that would harm them, I know the consequences of selling a gun or teaching someone to shoot.

And that's the rub.

If we have a class of citizenry (and non citizenry) that are barred from firearm ownership, then we by definition need methodologies to stop that class from acquiring guns.

There are a plethora of ways to solve for this - every one of which would garner the outrage of the RTKABA crowd  .

The OP in this thread is a caricature. If you're net for "anti 2A" people is cast so wide…I'd recommend this book or any of the videos Pete has recorded on the topic: https://www.amazon.com/How-Have-Impossible-Conversations-Practical/dp/0738285323/

We (gun owners) have been reduced to a caricature in the common culture. Glibly dismissed as relics. I've heard just as many stupid things said about guns as the next guy. I won't even repeat them here, but nothing surprises me. If you've ever had the experience of trying to help a dumba* with his math homework.. it's like where do I even start with this person. We can't even agree on what anything means. Communication is completely shut down.

We're in this situation because a huge chunk of the population has migrated to urban areas in the last 80 years and adopted socialist views, i.e., foregoing their own rights for the "betterment of all". IMO if we want to save the 2A we have to start by reintroducing kids to the outdoors and self-reliance. I know the 2A is not about hunting but I do think adventuring and learning to work with your hands - these are natural allies of gun ownership. Working on physical tasks is also a great way to learn single-mindedness. It teaches you to be present which is critical to all shooting disciplines.

Until people wake up and get the truth, the big picture then there is no way folks get to keep their guns. Difficult job when we have a herd mentality that's too lazy to learn.

OK "doomer "(some sarcasm here, don't take seriously :D )

We do have over 400 million guns in the US. We do have a seemingly robust population of 20somethings-30somethings with guns, most often those who also are fans of body armor, gear, camos, play video games on computers, take classes in defensive carbine use and so on... they may or may not be of the same political leanings but one thing is for sure.. there are a larger number of people wanting guns and owning guns than 20 years ago. While yes it also looks like most kids today don't care for the 2A; there are still some who care enough to go on YT, Reddit, and talk about stuff related to guns.

We are in the good times that makes people soft. And soft people will make way for hard times and people will harden up and deal with it. I hope after I'm long dead that the good times will end...but they could end sooner and so that's why I have stuff... and why I'm teaching the wife, and trying to impart gun safety and morals unto the children. Also why we're serious about home schooling for the daughter.

One of the biggest problems with liberals is guns are not the only thing they want to ban or control. High profile no doubt but still just one of many things they want to change or eliminate.

With all the issues they concentrate their efforts on they most likely are not going to stop and listen to any rational or explanations on any issue. They just keep following the status quo of their 'leaders' and don't budge.

Because they are technocrats. Only experts can make appropriate decisions.

Try this experiment. If you are ever facing a skeptical liberal, just tell them you took a class/went to school for whatever it is you are talking about. They will believe everything you say after that.

"Yeah but how did you know how to.."
"Yeah but how do you know that.."

A: I took a class at/have a minor in/read a story in the New York Times

Works for most things, try it.

Not when it comes to political topics.

"Doomer" :s0158: :s0140::s0124: I don't mind the handle, it fits.

How we know what's different is we live through the changes and compare.
Old men like me that started life before color tv and space travel see the world different than younger men who grew up with computers.

Computers changed the culture and the world and that was just the beginning of the biggest change.

The phone now runs our lives and it is more powerful than any computer from 10 years back.

It's a leash that tells you everything you are supposed to know and keeps from you what you need to know.

With that kind of power in everyone's pocket that manipulates and controls you, spys on you, tracks you, it's difficult to get people to think with that tight of a leash.

That phone in our pockets has more power than all the media put together because it tells those who want to know just what you are thinking, then what to say to change your mind.

Anyway to understand a person has to learn to think for themselves in a world that tells you what to think.

I could ramble on but put out plenty to think about already.

Only for those who allow it to do so.

It has an on/off button and can be left at home.
:D or you can have an old flip phone like me. Hasn't been turned on for two weeks.

Did you know that even the old flip phones search for a tower even when turned off?

Batteries run dead if you don't put the phone in the right spot.

FIFY
Q: Do Anti Gunners Really Think This?
A: No
No they don't think because they are programed to feel. Think about all they hold important and its fear driven subjects. They are taught to be anti gun useing fear as the teaching tool and their fears are constantly reaffirmed by the phones they can't get away from. People have let the phones corrupt their minds, the phones have become an addiction that fills that dopamine need.

Going to be really difficult or maybe even impossible to bring folks back to thinking for themselves.

Trigger words, trigger phrasing, it's all just a particularly malignant form of neurolinguistic programming. Today's mass media (including Big Data like Google) are a propaganda machine that would put a tent in Goebbels's swastika-print skivvies, no more no less.
