Did anyone see the new Portland Mercury cover?

Picked one up from our neighborhood delivery guy(my day job is about a block from the PM) today and was a bit shocked at the cover. Then, I started looking at pics and was even more shocked.

The biggest shocker for me? Notice the trigger finger discipline! Who consulted with them?! Sure wasn't NorthernBornRebel or that "Izhmash Saiga AK47" the cover model is holding would have been converted. She's cute, too.

Will this make more people mad than happy? Will they catch flak from their readers? How does this make you feel? Should I be a little or a lot shocked?

Personally, I'll pick up the Mercury a little more often now.

    Discuss.

If this makes chicks like that think guns are cool and sexy, then by proxy, I become sexy and cool and hot chicks will want to [censored] me.

    I'm okay with this.

I'm thinking the 10/22 pic was flipped in editing.

When the Mercury reading Portlanders begin to bring guns into fashion, the decline will continue.

Fascinating, I does seem like a cool idea, combining guns and fashion. Do you try to match colors, gun with pants, or gun with vest/jacket? Or is it more overall outfit with weapon function, like casual wear with AKs and shotguns, business casual with plinking .22s, etc.?

It is an interesting statement from a reliably progressive periodical, albeit one whose main beat is cultural, not political. Someone should followup to this thread with the letter-to-the-editor next week....

Kind of reminds of my girl, she's awfully attached to my Saiga AK... refuses to allow me to sell it.
