CZ 452 17hmr failure

This is very interesting. Looks like the same exact failure. Did you happen to see the case?

We had been shooting with a suppressor all weekend, but not when the failure occurred. It was removed after a few hundred rounds and went on a different gun. We had been shooting a combination of CCI, Federal, Hornady, and Winchester ammo. I was just letting the kid burn through all the old miscellaneous ammo.

I'm starting to think he might have had a prior squib and chambered another behind it. I don't see the "fired with open bolt" as a possible cause.

The barrel blew out as well? Mine had the case still in the chamber and barrel intact.

Nope, the magazine disintegrated as did the case, the bullet went about four inches up the barrel until it hit the other bullet already there.
