I was pricing coated one piece cleaning rods the other day and about crapped my pants at the cost. So I got some high quality shrink tubing and a heat gun from my tool box and coated them myself. I have a bunch of steel kleen bore rod sections so I did them all. A little time and carefully trimming with a razor blade and done. Might not be the best but the cheapest.

Yes, good idea. I've worn out one of my Dewey rods, pieces of plastic schucked off the metal rod.

I have another Dewey that I bought for AR-length barrels. Which I've never used because once it got in my work area, it disappeared.
