Well guys its OPEN!! Thanks @Joe13 for the extra hand getting it open.

We ended up drilling the side and taking a punch to it. Popped right open. After closer inspection it looks like the bar that moves the lower side bolt in and out was bent just enough to keep the door from opening. So I am going to JB Weld the side and straighten the bar and I am back in business. :)

I'd replace that crooked, flimsy form-bent piece of heavy gauge sheet metal (looks like 16-14 gauge) with a heavier piece of angle-iron.

;)

I would have had you & Joe throw a chain around it & when it saw me back that BA F350 to yank it, the safe would have just popped open...:p

Steffan's Cummins should have already had it thinking twice about playing hardball. :D

Something else to check is the gaps at the top, bottom & the side to figure out which way to pry... just a thought brother.
My thinking too. Is the reveal the same on all 4 sides? Is the door flush with the sides/bottom? Might tell you where you need to push.

Well I certainly got to the party late but it was fun to read through the thread! Glad you were able to get it open.
Ever see an early (first year) Big Bang Theory where the girl buys a couch from Ikea and the boys (all engineers) spend the whole time trying to re-engineer it to make it stronger. Finally when they turn around she has put it all together by herself. Just the way we guys are wired!
