Holy crap...the DoJ is defending this? They conducted a search without cause or warrant under a false pretense of being a "repairman". How is this not "fruit of the poisonous tree" clause? Where is the cry for the 4th Amendment?!

Not to defend any one here but I bet the fact the first situation in the story took place in a hotel has some bearing on the need for a warrant.

Isn't that like saying the police can search your car because it's a rental? Hotel, apartment, home, trailer...you should be able to feel secure in your abode from unreasonable searches and siezures.
