Looks like gun control will be at the top of Biden's agenda should he win the Presidency:

"Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Sunday called for gun control less than 24 hours after two Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies who were critically wounded in Compton after a gunman opened fire on their squad car in an apparent ambush.

"Weapons of war have no place in our communities," the former Vice President tweeted. "We need to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines ."

Earlier Biden had called the shooting "unconscionable" and for the suspect to be brought to justice. He also said anyone who commits an act of violence "should be caught and punished. ..." More at link

Until criminals FEAR swift justice and very real punishment....nothing will change. More and more laws the lawless will ignore do nothing. Joe is pandering to his people, plain and simple.

Careful guys, you're going to offend people and stir up divisiveness. There are a number of members on this forum who have made it clear that they are going to proudly vote for Joe Biden.

Not me, by the way; I just didn't want you all to be getting yourselves in trouble. :)

That's the rub for me, how can you possibly have open discussion, without offending people? You either can't have open discussion, or you will inevitably offend people. When some people get offended by America existing, gun bans, gun ownership, capitalism, socialism, communism, two genders, God, the BOR, specifically 2nd Amendment, Marriage being heterosexual, America first policies, killing terrorists, personal accountability, financial responsibility, not abandoning your child in wedlock, police shooting people who are fighting with them — how can you possibly avoid offending someone?

Oh - and I'm offended if any of you are offended. ;)

Good night! :)

Sometimes people just have to agree to disagree.

I'm offended also.....

By the way, my post was somewhat tongue-in-cheek. I do believe in civil, respectful discourse, but at the same time I find it ironic when people come onto a gun forum, dedicated to defending the Second Amendment, and state that they "proudly" support the most anti-gun presidential candidate in American history, because "other things" are more important than gun rights. For the purposes of this forum, no, no they're not.

Sorry for the confusion, guys...

Another example of never letting a supposed crisis go to waste?

So, it appears from the grainy footage that a semi- automatic handgun was used and maybe fired something less than six shots. From this Joey B infers, or at least demagogues, that an "assault weapon" was used with a high capacity magazine, both of which should be banned.

Fact - California has an assault-weapons ban in place. No new non-featureless semi-automatic rifles allowed.

Fact - California currently has a high capacity (over 10 rounds) magazine ban. (Note: this law is currently being challenged.)

So, what in Joey B's policy comments would have changed the dastardly and cowardly shooting that occurred yesterday? NOTHING!

In my opinion, this is not ignorance. Instead, it is ideological stupidity and a threat against our Constitutional rights by an "assault politician."
