I took a client to marche to many times. Good food. I will say this is one place. Cheap place to eat is Hawaiian time. I think it's called. Went there about 100 times.

Anyone ever been to Pig & Turnip in Springfield? I love German food and they have some German-inspired dishes. There's an excellent German place in Coos Bay, but I'd like to be able get a decent schnitzel closer to home.

If you're ever down by Coos Bay, this place is worth a stop. I haven't had the sauerbraten, but my girlfriend, my mom, and I went here and all three dishes we got were fantastic. I find myself looking for reasons to go to Coos Bay so I can stop by again.

That Pig and Turnip in Springfield I referenced above has a Reuben. I plan to head there one day this week to try them out. I'm not a Reuben aficionado, and have my eye set on a different dish, but I'll follow up with an overall impression after I eat there.

Things I avoid:

American money falling into commie hands via my paycheck.

Anywhere in the PNW that claims to be BBQ.

Anywhere that says brewery or taphouse.

Anywhere that serves "ethnic" cuisine and doesn't have a restaurant full of same ethnicity eating there.
