Yes, this is serious, possibly deadly stuff, but...

It is good to be prepared and aware of just what is going on around you and the world.
With that said...
It does you no good to be so wrapped up in the coming end of the world event that you are preparing for ....Only to get hit by the oncoming bus that you failed to see.

Life is full of risk...
Do not court danger , or go rushing to it blindly.

There are all kinds of potentials for calamities and extinction events. Prepare for the ones you can survive. Don't worry about extinction events because there is absolutely ZERO you can do about them. Even something as simple as the extended loss of our electrical grid is estimated to result in a 90% dieoff the first year.

Things may or may not happen in your lifetime, but they will eventually happen. Heck, the sun will eventually cause our demise if nothing else does.

Remember we are only a heart beat away, so the best thing is to live every moment as though it is more precious than gold, because, in fact, it is. No amount of gold can buy back a second of time.

Here is another potential mass death possible extinction event for just before Christmas.

"...The asteroid, known as 216258 2006 WH1, is set for its closest approach to Earth on December 20 - just days before Christmas. The 540 metre space rock is the same size as the World Trade Centre and would cause a significant amount of damage and mass extinction. ..."

Humor aside, the authors science behind his thought process makes sense.

If it happens in the next few months, vs the next few thousand years, it will happen.

Please continue to post updates as they arise, it is rather interesting.

I disagree about the science supporting a Yellowstone eruption in the next few weeks. Scientifically it makes no sense but basic info. such as changing co2 levels, which happens all the time in a dynamic system like Yellowstone, has been twisted to generate listener interest.

This kind of sensationalism happens all the time. Pat Robertson predicted that the end of the world would be in1982. Then later he said it would be 2007. How many times can a person trying to generate interest/following recycle the same narrative to earn $? Endlessly, it seems.

Earthquakes are unbelievably hard to predict. You need to have numerous indicators (such as we did with mt . helens) to even have a chance at prediction. There have been numerous attempts to predict "the big one" such as with the new Madrid fault and it just can't be done unless you have numerous indicators all pointing to the same thing. But it's super easy to play on people's fears and you can grab any piece of scientific info out there and hold that up and say "see, it's coming" and that will generate more views of the video, and people will post it on forums and that will generate more views, and on and on.

I was speaking of the authors science behind a Cascadia type event. Build up of various tensions/hotspots, mini releases off of the coast & such.

Signs for a near time pending massive Yellowstone event would be far far more remarkable. IMO.

"What about if someone saw a train plow into a schoolbus? Wouldn't they go over and help out with the aftermath or just watch?"
If you were a member of the "news media" you'd just stand around uselessly, taking pictures and asking other people how they "felt" about the situation.

Just had a 6.3 in the aleutians, the next one is off the PNW Coast.

The force flows from the fulcrum of pressure to the next break zone... We just had a few good ones near SE Asia, now it has moved to AK, and it should continue down the coast. Be prepared.
