Attorney General Eric Holder blasted "stand-your-ground laws" in the wake of the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin—saying such laws cause more violence than they prevent.

Mr. Holder, speaking to the NAACP Annual Convention in Orlando, Fla., took direct aim at "stand-your-ground laws," which say a person can use force in self-defense without first attempting to retreat from the situation.

I fear we're getting deeper and deeper into very dangerous ground. I would hope that gay and womans' rights groups start to chime in on this one. Rollback of stand your ground is a direct attack on anyone who is assaulted.

This is one of those things, that even the most liberal of people who believe that passing laws stops criminals, can see is not a good idea. The idiot Burdick tried to do the same thing this session with her "must retreat" bill. Are these people really that stupid?
