Oregon Appeal to IP 44 Filed

I've love to hear about a counter attack after these two initiatives are dead. Not a save up for the next fight but to actually make them feel they made things worse by trying at all.

Yes, we need to take the offensive, that's why I started this thread: Proposed Legislation or Initiatives To Incentivize Safe Firearm Storage

This may or may not be the exact thing we want to do, but we need to come up with our own ideas and start putting them on the defensive.

And it needs to be a scorched earth offensive. The public in Oregon needs to educated about the benefit of having an armed society, remember, an armed society is a polite society. The public needs to be educated on the root causes of gun violence, such as mental health, the impact social media, video games and the film industry has on gun violence. And lastly the FN Socialist Democrats who started this need to be exposed as the threat to public safety that they are when they pull sh!t like IP 43 and 44. The public needs to be educated on how those measures did absolutely nothing to make schools or the public safer and would have only succeeded in making law abiding citizens potential felons overnight. Every form of communication needs to be used, print media, tv, radio, social media, public events etc.. to get our message out. We also need to present solutions as well. I've been watching this train wreck for three months and the whole time kicking myself in the a$$ for not being more aware and being complacent, thinking my rights are secure here in Oregon, we're not California or New York or New Jersey, this could never happen here, well I was wrong and it has spun me into a deminsion of pi$$ed off I have never been in before and has scared the crap out me as well. I'm ready to fight, I'm ready commit, I'm ready to make sure this doesn't happen again. Now that I'm done with my rant, how do we move this forward?

Legislatively we play offense nearly every year (not necessarily firearm specific, but nonetheless). The real wall is the Democrat leadership. While a few Democrats support traditional recreation and firearm rights, leadership doesn't.

Expose the truth and see where that takes us! Start with the Billionares who have the most influence, and the corrupt bought and paid for politicians, and finally the church groups who would use God's house of peace and charity to advance very anti Godly points of view!

I saw her many years ago at the OC Fred Meyers getting out of .... yes, a jacked up F250 even then. I didn't bug her but I can say that the camera wasn't very friendly to her - face to face she was pretty good looking.

Thinking about this overnight, I think the Oregon Legislature will steamroll IP44 and if IP43 fails that as well. For right now they will remain pretty quiet about this, but the pattern set by Brown is to hold a press conference a short time after the November elections to announce the agenda she wants against our Civil Right to defend ourselves and our country.

I expect that there will be an ad blitz fully assisted by the local and regional MSM based on character assassination along the lines of "They love their guns more than they love the lives of our children" and twisted stats that include suicides along with actual murders. They will have ads with "hunters" telling us that you "Don't need weapons of war to hunt a deer", and "If you need more than five bullets to hunt a deer you have no business hunting". The enemies of Freedom always use collaborators and they will use these Fudds to cloud the issue (it's our right to defend ourselves, our loved ones and our country and not about a nonexistent right to hunt a deer). They are probably working on the scripts, identifying production companies, actors, and collaborators as I type this.

Guaranteed that if you speak up you will be targeted whether in public, private, or in social media. The taller the nail stands the harder is will be hit. Our next hope, though it's a long shot, is that this November we get Buehler in place of bloody Brown AND we prevent a majority, or worse, a super majority in the house and senate. Get us back to a gridlock status, about the best we can hope for in OR, and at least the legislature will be hamstrung. This election is going to have big consequences for gun owners - I hope ALL gun owners, regardless of party see the danger of giving the Dems too many seats in Salem. We need to restore a balance in Salem to stop the fake "emergencies" they keep hitting us with.

The biggest threat is giving them a super majority - at that point it doesn't matter who is Governor because they would have the votes to override a veto.

I agree with much that she said, but have a problem with using academic studies, or even finding unbiased studies coming out of most universities. I saw one study that the left has been using from a college that I have never heard of Quinnipiac University (Boston to New York)- that is where the 67% of Americans want more gun control comes from. I do agree that all studies must be peer reviewed and not just take their word for it.

I agree with that. I think that because Ms. Cousins is an Aussie that she wasn't taking US academia's heavy bias to the left translating into a predetermined outcome into account.

^ Agreed, this has to happen. If Brownstain is reelected, they'll just cram this kind of nonsense through the legislature à la SB 941. I'll take gridlock over a raft of tax hikes, anti-2A measures, and regulatory BS, any day.
