I have a sony cyber shot that takes photos in HD. Up close for detailed pics it is absolutely amazing. But for a lot of moving photos, kids running around, etc it was terrible.

Just for kicks, I follow "Jack The Dog" gun auctions, mostly for the exquisite up close pics he takes of the firearms that he has up for bid.
I can't afford them, but I can enjoy looking at them.

What kind of post-processing program do you use? Sharpness is tack-on. Contrast, color, all look great. I haven't seen a camera phone shot look like that. Lightroom? Photoshop? Something else?

It is a Hogue extended cylinder release.

Just the instagram app usually. I do occasionally airbrush out lint and such with GIMP...but I do not mess with the color.

I have been working on getting better pics of my guns, just to share.
I have a spot in the hallway/laundry room that I work in. I've made up some decent lighting, led, direct and indirect. Mostly, I was trying to get rid of dark shadows.
I have a couple background cloths I use. Never photoghraph on white or black background.
Oh, and I'm using a Galaxy Note9.
Getting a handle on the shadows; working on the glare. These are a couple CZ 40's I fitted with 9mm barrels, from a P09 and a P07.
I generally take a pic from back a bit, then crop to fill the screen. I keep them in a folder that I can show what I'm talking about.

Looks good. Is the blur on the 1911 all from the lens or is that also post production blur added? I assume a lot of PP blur due to there being blur in the same plane as the gun?

For me gun pics are all about the angles. Kinda like fast cars - you want to get some of the front as well as some of the side. That and a good backdrop is critical, something that contrasts with the gun to make its outlines pop.
