Sadly that is not the way it works much any more. Black robes can do as they please as long as voters allow it. There has long been a heavy push from voters to give up the rights in that document. All too many people are more than glad to be able to tell those who do not want freedom what to do. A lot of it stems from poor choices. People make poor choices because they have freedom. After making a mess they wants gov to come along and clean it up. Cost? A little less freedom. Look how many gladly say take some freedom for the promise to take care of me? Once this gets started those hungry for power do not easily give any of it back.Well, I expected the majority on the court to uphold the Constitution. The least they can do is tell us why not?
