shoot
In botany, a plant shoot consists of any plant stem together with its appendages like leaves, lateral buds, flowering stems, and flower buds. The new growth from seed germination that grows upward is a shoot where leaves will develop. In the spring, perennial plant shoots are the new growth that grows from the ground in herbaceous plants or the new stem or flower growth that grows on woody plants.
In everyday speech, shoots are often synonymous with stems. Stems, which are an integral component of shoots, provide an axis for buds, fruits, and leaves.
Young shoots are often eaten by animals because the fibers in the new growth have not yet completed secondary cell wall development, making the young shoots softer and easier to chew and digest.
As shoots grow and age, the cells develop secondary cell walls that have a hard and tough structure.
Some plants (e.g. bracken) produce toxins that make their shoots inedible or less palatable.
Just for fun bought one of these $30ish aluminum prisms. Works good as long as you aren't moving the gun around. Gonna try it on .308 to see if it holds up. You can see through the back or the side. If it were actually mounted on a gun that you might need to use I would put it on a flip up...
Hello
I am looking for a private legal place to shoot pistols. A back yard berm or a hillside somewhere in the key peninsula area. I would be willing to either pay for the access or trade property maintenance for access. I can repair fences, spray right of ways or road sides, brush clearing...
I couldnt believe this when I read it.
If you have the capacity, read the entire article.

@Cerberus Group, here's a conundrum; I know it's a me problem, my thought is flinching. I can shoot my 9mm just fine, very fast and on target. When I get the 1911 out, I can't hit the broad side of a barn.
My guess is that I'm flinching with the 45, any thoughts? It's rather frustrating, the RO...
I've started loading/shooting .32 20 again. Fun little caliber from a Winchester '92 carbine build around 1908.
I find that 3.3 gr. of W 231 or 3.5 of Unique gives me FPS speeds of 1050/950 respectively. Should I load heavier and quit being a puss or just leave it as is? Your educated...
I don't know what I am doing wrong. I have a Glock 19 (9mm) and a 1911 (Full size, .45) and I can't shoot either one worth a darn. I'd guess about 70% of my shots end up going significantly to the left. I can't tell what I am doing differently with the ones that do land on target other than...
Just as the tittle says. Looking for a place to shoot speed steel matches. I wasn’t able to find anywhere on practiscore in our area but people at the local idpa and Uspsa matches mentioned that I should try it out. They said to look on practiscore but then again it doesn’t show anywhere in our...

Started out sunny and nice earlier and I wanted to go shooting. I had to run a couple quick errands first and came home but it clouded over Really quickly and the wind came up.
Well, I grabbed my RIA, some ammo, and took a ride out to one shooting spot just a few minutes from home but it...
This has been a thing I have thought about a lot but I don't see much about it being posted or maybe I just didn't catch the thread.
I (just speaking for me) have never seen a fight that started at 21 feet+. Maybe LEO for sure but civilian on crazy it is my personal opinion that any fight I...
Atlantic had one version of this that said .410. They had another one that said .410 or 45 LC as of yesterday. They looked identical except for furniture. Today I don't see 45 LC listed anymore. Is the issue here chambering? barrel? or simply pressure of 45 LC vs. 410? Basically the...
This is NOT LEGAL ADVICE.

Hi, just checking if anyone is willing to drop pin some safe long range shooting spots in the coast range. Also, does anyone go out to the Tillamook woods for 1 mile shots
Pic below

I'm going to be in Cody, Wyoming for an evening and thought I might stop at a local place there that allows you to shoot various types of firearms (for a fee, of course).
Among the options are some black powder gun. I've never shot a black powder gun in my life, so it sounds like a fun...
A friend of mine was given this custom Mauser actioned heavy barreled rifle in 243 Rock Chucker. He also was given brass, dies and some loaded ammo. He has asked me to help develop a load for it. Near as I can tell it is a .257 roberts necked down to 6mm which I believe became the 6mm rem. I do...
