An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages. They differ from chat rooms in that messages are often longer than one line of text, and are at least temporarily archived. Also, depending on the access level of a user or the forum set-up, a posted message might need to be approved by a moderator before it becomes visible.
Forums have a specific set of jargon associated with them; example: a single conversation is called a "thread", or topic.
A discussion forum is hierarchical or tree-like in structure: a forum can contain a number of subforums, each of which may have several topics. Within a forum's topic, each new discussion started is called a thread, and can be replied to by as many people as so wish.
Depending on the forum's settings, users can be anonymous or have to register with the forum and then subsequently log in in order to post messages. On most forums, users do not have to log in to read existing messages.

Since I seem to be the only one who can't log into the forum without having to go to the trouble of re-setting my password each time I want to log in (and yes, I have set my browser for it) I am wondering is there a way to quit the forum and not log out? I have looked for this but can't find...
Hello fellow shooting enthusiasts. I grew up watching my dad shoot Monday night bullseye matches and listening to my grandpa tell the same hunting and shooting stories over and over again. Thank God they are emblazoned in my memory now. I recently outright deactivated my social media accounts...
I suggested new member Sisu use the women's forum section to find possible women shooting buddies, only to have her point out that there isn't one. And she's right. There isn't.
Is that an accident, or was the general section on women shooters dropped? I think it wasn't much used because most...
As I've noted before, my daughter is home-schooled. But we are part of 2 school communities that help fill in the gap for instruction and social interaction. One of those schools has asked if anyone could help identify a site/software that would allow for online collaboration/coordination of...
