The Colt Automatic Rifle-15 or CAR-15 was a family of M16 rifle based firearms marketed by Colt in the 1960s and early 1970s. However, the term "CAR-15" is most commonly associated with the Colt Commando (AKA: XM177); these select-fire carbines have ultrashort 10.5-inch (270 mm) and 11.5-inch (290 mm) barrels with over-sized flash suppressors.
The CAR-15 name was an attempt to re-associate the AR-15 name with Colt, since the AR initially stood for ArmaLite Rifle, the original manufacturer of the ArmaLite AR-15. Colt later abandoned the CAR-15 concept, but continued to make carbine variations, using the "M16" brand for select-fire models and the "Colt AR-15" brand for semi-automatic models. However, in present usage, "CAR-15" is the generic name for all carbine-length variants made before the M4 carbine.
This upper has a cut down and reprofiled to 15" then had an A2 flash hider pinned to for 16" length to make it a more accurate looking 727 clone. It has skinny handguards not colts but still gives you the correct profile. This is a complete upper with a NiB bolt carrier group and charging...
This upper consists of a mil-spec upper receiver I don't recall who made it but it is Square Forge code. The Barrel is BCA Gov profile so it's LW under than handguards. low profile gas block with the dimpled barrel only one dimple though but that enough to keep it from moving under normal...
Super cool keep it simple A2 Carbine Upper like from black hawk down. This consists of an unfired Spikes 1/7 Chrome Lined barrel and a lightly use FN "FK" A2 upper receiver. The handguards are colt copies they are 6 hole skinnies identical to colt skinnies except they are more of a matt texture...
Super cool keep it simple A2 Carbine Upper like from black hawk down. I took in the Armalite chrome-lined barrel on trade the other night. The previous owner guessed round count in the low thousands.but still passed all headspace gauge checks and has nice sharp shiny clean groves and in better...
Col A1 stock complete. good condition Some sticker residue left will come off with some acetone I will have that done before the meeting. Buttplate has a small crack starting pretty common with these old stocks. I have since cleaned it up and looks better than it does in the photo, $120...
Thes 4 stocks all fit mil-spec tubes note the one on the far left had the lip removed. The second one from the right could be a squeeze on a smaller diameter commercial tube as they do vary.
From left to right
2. $15 (SOLD)

Well, it's Decision Time on ordering a stock for the C8 build, and I need some input from the Wisdom of the Crowd. M&A Parts has the basic CAR they've offered for years for around US$25. Retro Rifles offers what appears to be the same molding in an OD Green that they claim to be Canadian clone...
