I've thought a lot more about this than a faithful Christian should perhaps, that in itself is more frightening to me than the scenarios we all invent in our minds, My wife and I have been faithful givers to God's work for many many years, you cannot do that without believing that God has a plan and that he loves us.
The problem is in determining whether our planning is just "of the flesh" or whether we do indeed have evidence that our nation is headed towards disaster, and that we should be preparing for surviving it.
It is very hard for me to believe that we will escape a national economic collapse. So, am I preparing because God wants me to or because I don't trust him? Any of you who understand what I'm saying probably are having such thoughts yourselves.
So, I asked my pastor whether or not our church has a plan to deal with a collapse, and he threw it back into my lap, "Are you going to be a Joseph or an Elijah?"(Gen 41 and following, and 1rst Kings 17)
He told me that he doesn't see it as being clear cut that a total collapse will happen, instead we may be headed for European socialism, restricted freedoms etc. I don't understand what he sees that I don't, because to me even if someone came into the presidency and installed limited taxes and a government support of free market capitalism that allowed a flourishing economy to be unleashed there is still the problem of the little ones not being taught how marketplaces work and have worked for thousands of years, and without schooling in these things the implementation of an attempt to achieve the fantasy of socialism is always just around the corner.
Democracy only works when the voters have understanding, and very few Americans under 50 have understanding because it hasn't been taught in our schools (And that is by design, it's part of the subversion plan the KGB came up with in the 50's). So, it is not going to turn around, it cannot. The deception from the left is deliberate, Obama knows that if he were able to steal all the money that the top 50% owns it would not turn our economy around, the debt is far too large to pay down.
I'm committed to living by faith, and have been for many years. Does that faith compel me to store for the future or to simply depend on my great Provider when the time comes, for me that is the delimma.
First, European socialism is about to collapse, probably sooner that we do, but when they do they will take our economy down with them. Their debts have led to attempted austerity measures followed by riots. Italy is on the verge of economic collapse so what happened this week? Protests demanding...
Second, as a Christian, be aware that in the past 2,000 years there have been many SHTF events where Christians believed that "this is it." They were wrong, but the SHTF was there nonetheless. There are widespread SHTF events all over the world right now, and every year 6 million people starve to death in this world.
