What I worry about is if it actually were to come to a Civil War (assuming we aren't kinda in one already) what happens?

The next Civil War will not be fought with weapons in the streets and fields. The next Civil War is already underway, and it is being fought on social media, Legislatures and court rooms and coffee shops. The weapons being used are computers, phones, and cameras. The tactics are disinformation, Alinisky style movements, creating division in the "United" States of America, creating race wars and the elections of socialist promise everything to the voters will be the outcome. The generation of the millennials kids ( my grandkids) will have the challenges, that should be about enough time to completely destroy what the last 3 generations have built up.

Since this country has not seen any kind of a "uniting event" in the last 16 years, you have a completely new generation of voters who think sh*t is all f up in the world now as they have no reference otherwise. I am sure that potential enemies of the US are sitting back watching this society eat each other alive over chicken sh*t type political things, and before you know it an enemy will strike Pearl Harbor style, and everybody will be too busy with the internal strife to be able to resist.

Nope. Can't think like that. The people that want to do away with the constitution and bill of rights can find a new country to live in and leave our soil. Some Socialist/Communist country will take them in and give them everything they could want, need or desire.

You want to let China or whichever country and or entities that are subverting our UNITED States move in and be right on our doorstep? Nope. They can't have any of it. Not a single square foot of land. What I worry about is if it actually were to come to a Civil War (assuming we aren't kinda in one already) what happens? How vulnerable does America come to attack? Or do the politicians and elite just start jockeying for position and hope they can carve out their own little kingdoms? Or does it kick off WWIII? Because if our nation goes down they all do?

I think we ARE in a form.of civil war. Have been since Michael Brown tried murdering a cop with his own gun and got what was coming to him. BLM, ANTIFA, Black Bloc, Redneck Revolt - domestic terrorists that have been engaging in physical confrontation using weapons - albeit not guns yet, unless Vegas shooting is tied to them.

Left calling for violence and hostility toward conservatives. Nothing civil there. People in the media calling for the deaths of conservatives and gun owners for simply being who we are.

Things are escalating. Thing is - I don't think we can stop them. Not without an honest to god shooting war - which is the last thing I want but it seems inevitable. The ends of the spectrum are highly polarized. We are living un an u precedented age where radical groups can organize and plot actions instantly. Lone nuts can meticulously plan evil deeds from a phone or computer and have exact locations and evac routes planned with free aid from google maps. Add complicit, sympathetic media, corrupt politicians and a general breakdown of social norms and here we are - if we are not in a civil war we may well be right on the brink. Antifa et al are calling for a coup de tat against the elected head of state because they are pissed their bubblegum queen somehow lost the election she paid people to steal for her. If we go down western civ goes with us. Who will help us - the Canadians? The Brits? Both highly disarmed citizenry themselves most of whom would not mind if we emerged more like them and less like us. The French help? They have their own problems - their country and culture are being destroyed because of their crap immigration policies and capitulation. Mexico? Yeah. LaRaza. Reconquista. They think we owe them something and would happily try getting a foothold here and taking land from us. Cartels need more room and more control. Russia may turn out to be our best ally in such a case because despite the whole USSR nonsense - culturally we are more alike than not. China would no doubt love to carve us up - but then their economy tanks if ours does. Civil war in the US means we dont import millions of metric tonnes of cheap chinese crap daily.

But the lefties would jizz themselves for a far left utopia. Problem is they want the whole US. They need a slave/worker class to labor and tax. That'd be us. They would have their gated communities, armed guards, and different rules to live by.

We are far too nice and don't employ their tactics. They are relentless and far superior at death by 1000 cuts. They push to control every aspect of your life. A law for every situation and a law to make all citizens criminal one way or another. Liberty is antithetical to their plans and beliefs. If you make everyone a criminal it is easier to control them. We don't do that. And you know the real crap thing - even if we split the country down the middle - libs get to pick their side and we moved libs to their utopia and relocated conservative folk to the othdr - they still would not be happy and woyld infiltrate and destroy the consetvative country. It would be the one with the jobs, the cleaner cities, and real progress. Within ten or twenty years the socialist states would be flat broke and could not tax their way to prosperity and the handout culture would stall their economy, their cities would all look like detroit and portland, and they would blame us yet again for their problems.

Liberalism is not simply a mental disorder - it is societal cancer. Its a parasite, eating away at and destroying the host body eventually killing both.

Nothing will keep me from seeing my country music concerts.

Nor me going to ROCK N ROLL shows.:s0151:

My bucket list is long so I'm just going to have to rely on my situational awareness skills. Although I may have to have neck surgery because my head does not swivel as freely as years ago....:s0077:
Stay frosty ladies & gents.

An a bonafide introvert, I find more peace, solace and enjoyment in smaller, more intimate gatherings. I despise large groups/gatherings as much as I despise small talk. It takes more and more to get me to places with large crowds. I don't mind going shopping or maybe the county fair, but large venue concerts, even movie theaters, I prefer to just avoid. I did that more when I was younger, but it's lost it's appeal to me now.

Last weekend we took our daughter to see the Cirque Du Soleil out by the Expo Center. The tent holds about 2,500 people, so not nearly as big as a stadium concert or sporting event. I carried and kept my head on a swivel throughout the event, keeping an eye out on entrances and exits, watching for odd happenings and mentally planning various options should something bad happen (fire, shooting, etc.)

I don't let fear rule my life, but I take a realistic view on such things. Bad things happen, and while what happened in Vegas is statistically unlikely to happen to me, it doesn't mean it can't happen. So, a little planning, a little thinking ahead, and a little bit of situational awareness goes a long way when you do attend such events.

I was in Vegas Thursday to Visit a guy I know who was shot by lunatic , he's Going to be fine .

And the event that took place will not detour me from going and living my life as I see fit. If you allow this to in anyway change the way you come and go then you lose . Life is not a guarantee you could get hit by and out of control car while walking down the street .
or a piano falling out a window lol not to make light of this situation but really anything can happen so just go do what it is your going to do and enjoy life because there are no do overs

I assess situations and avoid crowds. When I'm in a restaurant I'm always watching the door, the patrons and where the nearest exit is. And I always carry. Always.

The best exit for a quick evac is probably out through the kitchen. Kitchens also tend to have lots of sharp pointy things that could become useful.

And a chance to get a free snack on the way out.... J/K LOL:p

In all seriousness I always look for Evac routes and I never put my back to an entrance when I'm in a restaurant.
Situational awareness is the key to survival in 95% of the situations you will face, the other 5% are the ones that you will never see or hear that will get you.
Stay alert and go home.

No because I don't live in fear. Living in fear and changing your habits isn't good.

I went to the Florida Georgia Line show with my family Saturday night in Ridgefield. The security was definitely beefed up.
Personally i was paying a little more attention to what could be used for a sniping position. But i did not let it deter me from enjoying the show and making sure my birthday boy son enjoyed his present.

No. I already don't do anything as far as going out at night to concerts, movies, places packed with people. Antique Power Land, Fremont Fest, Clackamas County Fair is about it. Places that are rife with crowds of the NEW left, no. Oh, we do like to go once a year to "The Amusement Park of the Weirdness" when our car needs a service that takes part of a day. Tonkin gives us bus passes and we use them to go from NE weird to downtown weird to SE weird and back on Trimet. That's enough for the year.

We just came back from three weeks in a lake side community of 1300 people. With going to town meant 8,00 people. Just makes me hate this flocked up city all the worse.
