When I pasted that link I was knowing you would~!!!!! LOL About 15-16 years ago she was doing soft porn and was ashamed of it. But then, like most women later in life she revirginated into a new image.

Men who worry about what women think about them at the gym need to get a clue and entire ignore their presence.

Women are superficial. Their first thought when checking out a guy is 'what will my friends think of him.'

So as far as the gym, they are looking for a handsome face FIRST, then tall, then third place - a lean, muscular build. If you are ugly or short it won't matter if you have the perfect muscular build. Women are MORE superficial than men. Post SM/2007, times that by 50x.

I have two out of three; that ain't too bad.

The gym today was a scene of absolute bedlam. The gentleman working out next to me surrounded his bench with dumbbells and curl bars, then proceeded to walk off and leave them for 5+ minutes at a time while he did a circuit at god-knows-where. This isn't your personal, home gym jackwad. I wanted to smack the bubblegum out of him.

I'm really dreading January.

The GenZs LOVE to leave their backpack, gallon water bottle, whatever at a station while they go off and do other things for 15+ mins or more. I completely ignore that and push their stuff aside. Entitled brats. Mommy still cleans their room for them at age 22.

My gym today.

So this morning I did 3x10 sets of squats on the squat rack since the gym was mostly empty. My current leg workout is entirely machines, and even though it's tough there is a very noticeable difference between the machine leg presses and the traditional barbell squat. I'm going to incorporate squats and deadlifts on leg Day from hereon out.

The gym is full of clowns.

Dude racks up 320 lbs on the bench in front of his kid and asks if someone nearby if he can record his lift on his phone. I'm like, "damn, that's impressive". I'm a little guy but I can bench a lot, especially for my age. So he gets his son to spot and doesn't ask for a liftoff, the bar goes down and goes absolutely nowhere. I mean it just sits on his chest.

There is a guy at my gym that is in his late 60s and I always see him doing max weight 1-2 rep bench presses and I cringe. Someone told me he competes at it, but still. In my late 20s in a rare gym visit I was that dumb and almost wrecked my shoulder permanently. The macho thing is overrated. Different strokes for different folks I know, but I never go below what I can lift six times anymore. Not worth the risk.

Lots of ego-lifting at the gym today and I expect to see plenty more before January is over. Lots of guys going as heavy as they can with really poor form, all of them newbs.

It's OK to lift heavy, you just need to maintain proper form and procedure. There's a whole litany for preparation for heavy bench, namely retracting your scapula to prevent shoulder injury. Watching these new guys makes me cringe though. One guy was walking around rapping throwing his hands and arms around today with his headphones on. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am taking a second stab at my popsicle stick program, starting with 30 minutes of running for today. I picked up a virus in early December and I'm finally feeling close to 100% again. My starting weight for the month is 233.4lbs.

Here's to becoming fitter in 2024

30mins of running is done. I got the first 10mins done uninterrupted but had to use the stopwatch to finish out the last 20mins. It took a total of 40mins to complete 30mins of running. I don't know what the gyms look like but there wasn't anybody out, exercising on the streets this morning.

Hell yeah, brother! Maybe we can get you in the gym when you're ready. I'm in your corner!

I'm heading into the gym now for back day. Will report if it's empty or pandemonium.

So today was back/calves and the gym traffic was moderate. I spoke to the woman at the front desk and said, "Oh, it's not that bad. " to which she replied, "Not yet!" with a wry smile.

Tomorrow is a rest day, but I may go in to do some cardio on the air bike just to get a laugh at all the chaos.
