Imperial Snot from Mount Rushmore Brewing Company in Custer SD.
A big beautiful boozy take on their Buffalo Snot. A luxurious blend of roasted malt, dark hops, layered with rich notes of vanilla, toasted oak, and warm bourbon heat.

Paired with chicken breast stuffed with shrimp, garlic, onion and bell pepper, topped with roasted red pepper sauce.

BEST dinner I've had in a long while.
Seriously.
And it's a brewpub....

Big @ss Beer

1 liter of crisp, cold Barcelona beer on a warm Friday afternoon.

ABV: unknown
Brewer: unknown
Regrets: pending

Honestly, details start to feel irrelevant when you're holding a frosty liter mug of pure goodness in the Barcelona sun. Light, refreshing, easy drinking, and absolutely committed to solving dehydration one giant sip at a time.

Verdict: 8/10

Sometimes sophistication is overrated… sometimes you just need a Big @ss Beer. 🍺

How do you top a 1 liter mug of frosty cold Barcelona cerveza?

Easy

You trade quantity for quality and follow it up with a 750ml bottle 🤩 of Finca Santa Maria Valtravieso on a rooftop overlooking the cathedral as the sun drops over Barcelona.

Stay frosty, mis amigos. 😎

VIVA :)

Valtravieso Finca Santa María is a fruit-forward, aromatic red wine produced by the renowned Bodegas Valtravieso in Spain's D.O. Ribera del Duero. Known for its versatility and fresh explosion of red fruits, it is primarily crafted from Tinto Fina (Tempranillo) grapes, with minor additions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Don't tell my bottles of Scotch whisky, but went a different direction this evening from a great local distillery, Westward Whiskey in Portland. The 2024 release of Vienna Malt happened by chance when their supplier accidentally delivered Vienna malted barley. The richness of the flavor is amazing. You almost find yourself wanting to chew while sipping. At 45% abv, it's a nudge above 80 proof, punching up the flavor a wee bit, while not being too overpowering. The bottle is getting low and looks like they only have a few left, so might need to pick up another. This amber gold is unlike any other whisk(e)y I've enjoyed.

If you are not familiar with Westward (not to be confused with Westland in Washington), they are worth a look, releasing unique flavor profiles (various wine casks, beer casks, sherry). Their visitor center is set to reopen in June. They are across from Smith Tea, another Northwest favorite (and they collaborate, i.e., smoked whiskey barrel teas).

Drinking swill at the moment, but it gets the job done. Saving the good stuff till I get to see my brother next month.
