Lost power about 0115. Looks like the whole town is dark. Damn wind chimes are gonna make it nearly impossible to sleep. AND, our fans can't provide any white noise.
I guess this is referred to as "a first world problem"?

We're not alone. As of 5 mins ago, about 1/3 of clark pud customers are without power, according to their outage map. The wind has died way down, but we're at the end of a road that leads really nowhere. Don't spose we'll be high on the list.

I just got back from work, received a couple dozen alarm messages from the water and wastewater plants. A couple downed trees in the city where I work but not too bad. Lost power at home for a few minutes at home.

We're supposed to get some sustained 30+ MPH winds a starting about mid-morning. We sit down in a little valley so hopefully we'll be below the worst of it. Our power here is all underground, but that portion of the lines is fed by overheads. I guess we'll see how it goes. Mr. Generac ran his self-test on Monday so I reckon he's up to the task should we lose power from Flathead Electric.

I drove to work this morning dodging downed tree limbs on the east side. I'm sure glad the leaves aren't on the old oak trees in my yard. A few years ago I cut every tree down on the west side of my house and I sleep better at night now. The wind didn't wake me, but I sleep subterranean which is superior to you above ground dwellers.

Not being able to sleep due to wind chimes sounds like the very definition of a first world problem. I slept like a baby while small branches bounced off my roof. Things like that are a "tomorrow problem" in my book.

It's the big ones that come through and land on the floor or you that are tonight's, lol!

Lost a limb off our huge cedar at 4:00 am right after we got up this morning. This is the 2nd limb, the last one hit our porch. Prairie living is sounding pretty good right now

I dunno, if your deliveries don't get to your house because of high winds on the plains..... Then there's hail storms and real bad wind storms... 1000158316.jpg 1000158317.jpg 1000158318.jpg

From the internet, some from Wyoming, some from the Dakotas

No problems here west of Salem.

I live at the bottom of a deep canyon, and it shelters us from the highest winds. They blow across the canyon, instead of up and down it, so they go right over the top. That said, we often lose power and are the last on the list to fix, being very near the end of the line.

I tested the diesel generator a couple of weeks ago, but haven't had to use it. Wood heat, propane BBQ, and gravity water. Even solar panels in case there is some sunlight.

I haven't been outside yet. We lost power after 0100 for a few hours. Not sure. Maybe as long as 4hrs.

It's funny. The wind noise was turned up to 11 but the house itself was too quiet. I found it hard to sleep well. No background noise or blue or red LEDs that I'm used to.
