Lost a big pine ...

Tree was 42" at ground level, the root wad was about 10 feet across and the hole was 6 feet deep.

Had to deal with ones like that using a "misery whip -10 footer"!

Neighbor popped over the fence and asked what I was doing, I told him "making sure we never have a power outage again, your welcome" and yup, 2 seasons in now, haven't needed the generator.

I "thought" about the switch a couple times. Never lost power so kind of back burner. Then last week lost power but only due to some moron driver. As I was stringing cords all over the house I suddenly was thinking hard on that switch.

The power went out for me for about five minutes, at 1AM, the night of the wind storm.

A couple days later, the power flicked on and off for a few seconds in the morning. But it wasn't windy.

It will probably hit us when the rib roast is about 1/2 cooked! Would start it earlier, but the kids can't make it til 6 pm. Then, who's to say the microwave will work when we need it?
