Indeed, I normally let the cut wood go through one good summer before burning it. First in, first out (FIFO) applies to firewood most assuredly. (I say "good" summer because when we lived up in the north coast, plenty of summers sucked sunshine wise. Here, thankfully, it is not a problem.)
