This is local. It must be stopped locally. Direct action, mobilizing voters, challenging in court...this is biggest threat to Washington citizen's firearms rights we've seen in years.

Some success by having a copy of Sporting Systems No on I1639 flyer and handing it to people next to the payed signature table set up. One actually left the location.
People who have read the flyer are actually shocked at the initiative, they said it was for safety........

Both Chucks Produce locations in Vancouver appear to have support from property owner to gather signatures. Seahawks and Chucks will never see a dime from me for the rest of my life.

5. It's for gun Safety.

What I witnessed Tuesday the 26th at the Chucks Produce in Salmon Creek.
They have to get there signatures by July 7th I believe.

Throwing money at Pro 2A organizations is great BUT it is not going to stop this from getting on the ballot. It's boots on the ground that is going to stop them from gathering enough signatures.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but are the signature gatherers allowed to gather while there are challenges in the court? If so, that is wrong! Putting the horse before the cart, if there are challenges, then like in OryGun, they need to be heard and ruled on before going for signatures and the voters, else whose, why even bother, true system is rigged, and My poor brothers and sisters in Washington are screwed right from the get go! How do you stop this if not for the court ruling on its legality? After the vote, good luck, the State will find every loophole it can to make it stick!

This weekend is there big push.
And I belive unpaid ballot signature gathers need to have a licence in WA state as its a business activity. But I may be wrong. Anyone know?

Just got an email from the 'pro-1639' campaign, saying they're less than 6,000 signatures away from getting it on the ballot. No way to tell if that's true or not.

I know there are a bunch of "I won't comply" people out here. I can appreciate those sentiments, but the fact is...you'll never be able to buy a firearm again WITHOUT complying. By NOT fighting this and not voting against it, you are complicit in saddling your brothers in arms with these insane laws. Anyone who gives a hoot about the 2nd amendment and their firearms rights, has to stand now and fight as hard as ever.

This is the just a stepping stone for the anti gun crowd. Passage of this law, will codify the term "assault weapons" in the RCW (revised code of Washington) so that in the next Legislative term, the assault weapons and high cap mag bans they tried to pass this winter, missing only by 2 votes. After that, kiss your Ruger 10/22s, Marlin model 60s, ARs and AKs goodbye. (Oregon citizens won their case against IP-43 because "assault weapons we not codified in the OAR - they wont make that mistake again)

We're preparing a fight ourselves, based in federal court for restriction of interstate commerce. This bill prohibits and dealer in the state of Washington, form selling a firearm (not transferring or delivering, but SELLING to a non resident). Rainier Arms, Aero Precision, Grey Ghost, Zev, and a myriad of other manufacturers could not sell, donate or otherwise to anyone but a resident of Washington). We are reaching out to everyone we can to gather some steam to submit a suit as fast as we can to prevent this from getting onto the ballot. At the very least, find a friendly federal judge to issue an injunction on our behalf, before it goes to the ballot (it would render the entire initiative invalid).

We opened a gun shop because we love firearms and felt a retail shop could be run so much better. We were right on that, but our loyalty is to the 2nd amendment, the US Constitution, the Washington State constitution and our fellow gun owners. We'll fight this thing to the bitter end.

Thank you for the kinds words, they mean a bunch with all the hate that's coming at us these days. We do this because of our love of firearms and desire to share the best of the firearms industry with our local community. We spent the morning slingin' Black Rifle Coffee at a Veterans event and then were at Ducks Unlimited event all afternoon. We own an engineering firm too, and its better pay, shorter hours, less overheard, fewer laws and far less misery across the board. However, we'll ride this pony hard and everyone will see us fall on our sword to take this measure out, or die trying. We love firearms a little too much to let a billionaire or 2 strip our rights. They've got money, but we've got passion.

The NRA already filed suit and won pre-signature and that judgement should assist in the effort to disqualify the petitions. This measure is much more invasive that 594, I've been talking with our local NRA liaisons and this looks like it will be challenged by at least different parties, not including our petition for illegal restriction of interstate commerce.

My reading of the initiative requires a specific approval letter from the police chief for that weapon and that purpose in every transaction... No matter how long it takes.

I hope most sincerely that we squash this... Decisively. They are banking on 'momentum' of the hysterics about immigration, whatever the last tweet was, boogeyman Russians will bring out people of their beliefs in higher numbers than people opposed to this initiative.

Yeah... I am not sure that there is any provision that will allow the requirement of a blanket waiver on medical situations for the exercise of a right. Or a suborning of a privacy for the exercise of a right... I mean, if they are serious about this, then perhaps they should let loose their medical records before being able to speak...
