From a story in Military.com. OK, full disclosure: it's only in a video game, but still a heckuva tribute to the 1911 to be included in "Starfield", which is set 300 years in the future.

There is also the "... the ever-reliable AK-47 as the 'Old Earth Assault Rifle.'"

Similarly the venerable AK makes an appearance in the sci-fi movie "Elysium" which takes place in the year 2154 and the owner refers to it as a "family heirloom". Hopefully my great, great grandchildren will be saying the same thing about my AKs.
