I'm in the same boat. Been looking at a DW Longslide in 10mm on and off for 8 years debating a caspian self build or the DW. Free time hasn't increased since I'm traveling more post Covid to have time for the build so DW looks like the way. $ is a wash on the used DW market compared to quality parts for a Caspian frame, Barstow barrel and Wilson parts.
The G20 SF is a good utilitarian 10mm. I have a Gen 3. It is better after adding a better supported chamber and rifled barrel, sights and some trigger work. But, being an Ol' Fudd 1911 guy, it has no soul.
