I had a coworker who quit Wendy's and his official resignation was written in crayon with something along the lines of being tired of the female manager raping him with her big black chicken repeatedly.

I met him again years later and it turns out, he may be just a little stupid.
I had a friend in the 90's that quit subway, dropped that sandwich on the spot by the time I give him the news he got hired at the Casino. I was happy for him but at the same time no one fix me up sandwiches the way he does all the time. :s0090:

I had a couple of friends that were Casino workers. They really liked their jobs, and I believe both were card dealers, like black jack and craps. I never tried those games myself. I only played poker with friends.

Once again people ask for something then are shocked when they get what they asked for. One upside to them asking for more and more money is tech. The tech to replace most of the workers is getting better all the time. I am shocked when I see long lines at the fast food places here. As another poster mentioned people will still pay so why not. Food is so damn bad on top of the price for it though. Wife and I went to a place here called 5 Guys last week. Price is VERY high for burger and fries but, damn they were as good as what I can do at home. So for a treat it was worth it and we will go back. To eat at a fast food joint now I would have to be very short on time and VERY hungry. I just can't eat that stuff any more it has gotten so damn bad.
Killer Burger is good too.

People that works on casinos mostly stayed for a long time. Especially the casinos on rural areas like the old Normandie Casino (in the picture below), Horsehoe, Commerce, etc. They use to have the Jackpot (Royal Flush) and I saw lot of people walked out with 130k 200k, even my friends dad around 135k. That's a large amount of money back in 1988. I'm not so sure if they still have that.
Speaking of that my buddy I mentioned initially got hired as chip runner and became a floorman. He was making a pile of money plus on the weekend they get a game bonus. Most of them group of friends of mine from the late 80's and they still are there till today.

If the declines in food prices are anything like declines in fuel prices you'll have to wait.
Yep! I drive a diesel truck. I do have a gas commuter car but gasoline has gone up recently as diesel has continued downward. As soon as you are not in my home town, still the most expensive place for both than I've seen around the state for two years running. $4.949 for diesel and and mid $4 for regular.

I believe it's possible that high, and getting higher, food prices have a lot to do with the cost of doing business in different areas.
Consider this state and the "Tax/fee, everything more and more when ever there is a drop in income for all the SPECIAL PROJECTS politicians keep implementing, and mistakes, and waste that come about". And there is, of course, the thievery/pilferage that is allowed to take place. Where I live you can't even remove a mature tree from your yard without getting someone out to say you CAN remove it. ($) And then the permit to remove it ($$). And then they will tell you what kind of tree you can/can't replant. You MUST replace the tree. Imagine what all you end up paying just to open/maintain a small eatery? All that gets passed on to the consumer.

It's funny how one part of the government says inflation is just transitory, and other agencies are asking for an increase in fees due to being unable to keep up with inflation:

May seem off topic, but is it?

Took my son to DQ on Sunday... bought 2 small Blizzards....$13.76

I think, maybe an 8 oz cup? And, they didn't serve it upside down.....nor with a thank you

We simply need less government. People need to be responsible for their own support, rather than living off the government teat, in some cases, generationally….

We don't camp any more, nor fish. And we won't pay Tillamilk-you County $10.00 to sit out on the Jetty for a few minutes. It ridiculous that you have to pay in places just to park, and walk into public forests. Where you're likely to have your car broken into when you get back to it.
Case in point:
$11.50 to park, get out and look off a bridge for 5 minutes! "Dougan Creek Falls"

Don't start on fast food prices (oops too late, we are 14 pages in). I am in the work SUV all the time so FF is often a staple of my diet. You'll in the NW are missing out on Whataburger. Inflation of what, 30%? Honestly I don't know how families stay afloat now. Yet people on both coasts seem to keep voting for corrupt degenerates. "Hey, let's pass another spending bill RINOS..."

That's my perspective from TX anyway. I know, I know, we got Austin, Houston, Dallas, and SA. A lot of folks from both coasts have moved here too so there.

Just don't vote for McCaul, the walking mass of smegma who called gun people "neo-Nazis."
