That was my first combat experience...and the lessons learned there , helped me with other combat deployments.

LOL… back in '85 the minimum wage (in PDX) was $2.35/hr.

I remember it being $3.35 at that time. Also remember .55 or .60 for a pack of smokes or gallon of gas.

Price adjusted, the AK is $1,244.00
The Colt Combat Commander I bought for 124.95 equals $640 of today's dollars - still a killer deal, if you could actually buy one for that. And Bill's House of guns offered free shipping on it. I think Pythons were $175 or so - out of my league.

2 years ago you could get an iron sighted Ruger or S&W AR for like $450 and Glocks were included inside every box of breakfast cereal so $250 for an AK 30 years ago was like $250 too much.

I found this the other day. These prices IMO reflect the mid 90's. I bought a SP1 back then for 650.
