This may suck. He's getting divorced, some of my guns were in his possession. She filed a restraining order on him and took all the guns. Lawyers say I have the right to get mine back. Will keep posts on this soap opera.

And of course one of the rifles is a Mosin. Got to have that one back!

Less is more when on the net. You never know who's reading your post.
    Just my 2 cents.

As long as you know which ones are yours. Theft of property of not returned.

It will help if you have proof of ownership, like bill of sale and serial numbers. Photos are very helpful.

Lawyers are expensive, for both sides.

    Good luck.

Best of luck to you, and as stated the more proof of ownership you can provide the better for you.
When family goes to court , it seems like everyone involved is under a microscope , the advice said about being careful with what you post is also good.

Yes I know to keep info brief. Also have sales receipts but after moving twice finding them will be a hunt.

Might be tough with the new BGC laws, and proving they are yours. Even if you have receipts.
The wife could also go crazy and say you gave them to him after BCG laws and get both of you in trouble.

Could go all kinds of bad, hopefully your lawyer gets a jump on it and starts the process of getting those back.

Not a lot of money for lawyers on either side. Hope for quick outcome. No large $ value so if things go south my son owes me a favor.

I'm not going to sweat the outcome, what ever happens, happens.

When she took the guns, did she complete a back ground check ??? Illegal transfer, sounds like to me. Use the stupid law against her if possible.

As an update, does not look good for me. So what. As I see it no one is dead or in prison, and I'm only out $1000 to $1500 value. Still sucks but is nothing to loose sleep over.
Can hope that grandsons will get the guns and I will tell them what the history of them are.

That's one hell of a way of passing them down.
You sound as if you're, OK, with the outcome. It's not right by any means.

Not really OK with the outcome but what can I do? Stomp my feet and through a fit. I have more important things to tend to. It's not worth the stress. Hopefully Karma kicks in>

So, before court OKed possession of chattel she pawned them off. But son knows store owner and got them on hold/lay-a-way to get them back.

Sounds like you need to bring Theft of Firearm charges against her...

Maybe your son needs a whoopin?

IMO heirlooms need kept in possesion until you die. Teach them about them and keep them till you croak
