I have life commitments. I cant be killed or imprisoned because some storeowner friend want's to get himself killed over a bag of doughnuts.

What you say may be true, Medic! But also maybe beside the point. The story, to me, seems to be about positioning yourself in a closed environment of a store. What if, instead of the story's mythical OM, it was me and my wife in a convenience store, she shopping at one end, me at the other, when two hinky feeling guys walk in...or she's inside shopping and I'm filling up at the pump and I see a knucklehead go in...
