Finally finished reading the whole thing. My takeaway is that it seems like most posters lump socialism into one basket, when in fact, it exists to varying degrees in every country.
Yep you see it here in America
Cause: AK AK AK AK AK. The one good thing to come from socialism. :D

Ya it's odd to find something that runs well out of that system:D:D

Personally I think socialism on a very much larger scale than that is simply incompatible with basic human nature. Several of the early American colonies practiced socialism, with poor results. Of course modern socialists always say their predecessors just didn't do it right, so maybe that's the problem.
Nah, you're right the first time. On a large scale its bound to fail.

Well, they were bound to get SOMETHING right.

I was shooting out at Salmonberry yesterday, and had a bunch of people ask me if I was from the socialist rifle association or SRA. It probably helped that I'm a mop headed, sort of liberal millennial, they must have thought I was one of them. They were all nice, and went on their way, I'm guessing to their tactical training against nazis and 'the man' somewhere further down the road.

I'm still kinda laughing at the idea actually being put into action. I mean, self defense is a good thing for any demographic to know and use, even socialists, anarchists, etc. self defense is self defense. The laughable part is, in college, I used to hang out with a bunch of these kinds of militant extreme liberals, and I would not trusts my life to any of them. I wouldn't trust their guns to work, their ammo to be half decent, I wouldn't trust their map reading skills, or any sort of wilderness survival ability, etc, etc, etc. Anarcho-crusties are the most talk and least walk of any group of people I have associated with.

Socialist Rifle Association

They do make some decent points, about being responsible for your own safety, and being prepared for emergency situations, but my goodness, the contradictions seem heavy in there. Also, the 'milita' pics are hilarious.
Such writing creative!
yea, I wouldn't click on that if I lived in a turbo van down by the river by a long shot just saying

One last comment, for the record:

I have no problem whatsoever with voluntary socialism, even voluntary communism. No problem at all. If you want to go join a commune or something, have at it. If you find the right kind of people it might even be a wonderful thing. Maybe, I don't know, never done it myself.

What I'm not a big fan of is forced socialism. No, not so much.

Let's not forget though.... If socialism comes knocking and trying to change everything...

The Right Arm of the Free World may have a word with ya. ;)

OK, OK, you all talked me into it. Here's my favorite "Commie gun". It's a Chinese MAK90 with the requisite number of American parts, so I guess it's only part Commie.

You won't see a stock like that anywhere else. I made it myself the week my oldest was born. The in-laws came to help and I took a couple weeks off, so I spent my free time in the garage with little more than hand tools and a few remnant pieces of laminated ApplePly. I think it turned out pretty well. I'll probably give it to her when she's old enough. She a teenager now, but since I made it the week she was born I kind of figure it's hers. When she's a little older and the boys start calling, she can offer to show them the rifle her daddy made for her. Maybe that will help thin out the undesireables.

No, I wouldn't make another set. It would have been easier with proper tools, but it was one heck of a lot of work. The rifle came from a Sheriff's auction nearly 25 years ago, who knows where before that. The Chinese drum I bought at a gun show in Reedsport, probably around '90 or '91 as I recall, for $25. Funny how you remember things like that.

Here are a couple more favorites from behind the Iron Curtain, the Evil Empire. This time from the former Czechloslovakia, a CZ52 and a VZ52, in 7.62x25 and 7.62x45 respectively:

I may not care for Marxist politics, but I can appreciate interesting engineering and good workmanship wherever I find it. Please don't ask about the red stock; I don't want to talk about it. :)

You just don't know what's good for you. The State should determine that. ;)

Its a shame 7.62x45 ammo is no longer made.

I'm just going to leave this here, with a warning about the link containing some explicit language. If you find a few swear words offensive, do not play the link I am posting. Somebody brought up Pol Pot and I just had to post this song. I hope that those of you who listen will enjoy the song.

That being said, I mostly like American, English, and German made guns. Italian shotguns, and a few pistols, have my interest now as well tho. I just prefer the beauty of an M-14 to an AK-47...

Also, I can attest to the general decency and generosity of the members at DRRC. From what i've seen, they are an awesome bunch. I would shoot with those members any time.
